Jonathan Renshaw’s strengths come in the form of plotting. His series plot for The Wakening appears to be large of scale and interesting. Unfortunately, Renshaw takes the lazy path when telling the story. In his first book, Dawn of Wonder, there were several forced and unbelievable situations used to advance the story. This is frustrating to readers who love the idea of the plot, and know what the story could have been.
We rate Jonathan Renshaw at the bottom of our “good” scale at 2.5 stars.
